Pay Later from the agent's side

Updated 2 min read

When a seller chooses Pay Later, they apply for finance with Campaign Flow, a separate company. Campaign Flow runs the application, checks the seller's identity and sends them an agreement to sign. When the finance is funded, Campaign Flow pays the campaign and it shows Paid. Pay Later is offered for campaigns over $1,000 and up to $50,000.

Where is the application up to?

A Pay Later campaign in the campaign list. Marker 1 is on Application sent under the Pending status, with its tooltip: the finance application has been sent, waiting for the seller to begin.

Look under the status in the campaign list (marker 1). Point at it for an explanation.

The seller's own payment page shows the same progress. For anything about the application itself, the seller deals with Campaign Flow directly.

Why can't I change the campaign?

Once the finance is approved, the proposal is locked, so the amount the seller signs for can't change under them. You'll see "This campaign is locked and can no longer be edited". If the application is declined, cancelled or withdrawn, the campaign unlocks again.

If the campaign was changed after Campaign Flow received it, the page shows "Campaign Flow financing no longer matches the current proposal", with Reinstate prior version or Keep new version. Check with the seller before choosing.

What is a shortfall?

If the finance comes in below the campaign total, the seller owes the difference. VPA Connect emails the seller to pay the remaining amount by card, and the campaign shows the amount still owed. Until the seller pays it, no supplier on the campaign can be paid: releases show "Cannot release suppliers while an unpaid shortfall is outstanding on this campaign". Follow it up with the seller.

The seller's email address is wrong

Campaign Flow can't change the seller's email once the application has started, even if you correct it in VPA Connect. The seller should contact Campaign Flow. Check the email before the seller chooses Pay Later (see My seller didn't get the email).

What does Pay Later cost the seller?

Campaign Flow sets its own costs and terms. Point the seller to Campaign Flow's FAQ and to Campaign Flow directly. What happens if the property doesn't sell depends on the seller's agency agreement and finance terms.

Screens still to do

  • The edit-lock message, the "financing no longer matches" card and a shortfall on the campaign page. They need the Campaign Flow sandbox, which sends real-looking emails, so they weren't produced for this doc.
