Roles and permissions
Updated 3 min read
Everyone at your agency has one of three roles: Director, Admin or Member. A Member can also be given Accounts, which lets them pay suppliers. You can see everyone's role in the Agency staff table on your account page (select your name at the top of the sidebar).

- Admin (marker 1): on for Admins and Directors. A Director's switch is on and locked.
- Accounts (marker 2): on for anyone who can release supplier payments. It is on and locked for Admins and Directors, because they always can.
- In the example, James Okafor is an Admin (marker 3) and Daniel Russo is a Member with Accounts (marker 4). Mia Chen is a Member without Accounts.

Admin and Director can do the same things, with one difference: only a Director can invite, remove or demote another Director. The Director is also the person who signed the agency's platform agreement.
A Member can act on any campaign in the agency, not just their own. The listing agent on a campaign is a label for who looks after it; it doesn't limit who else can work on it.
Common questions
Why can't my agent release a payment? They're a Member without Accounts. An Admin or the Director can turn on Accounts for them (see Invite staff and change roles). After that, they may need to reload the page before Release appears.
What does Accounts do? It adds one thing: releasing or rejecting supplier payment requests, which also allows completing a campaign. It doesn't give any of the Admin abilities.
Do Admins need Accounts? No. Admins and Directors can always release.
Why does my profile say "Platform Role: Agent"? That describes the kind of VPA Connect account you have (agency staff, rather than a supplier). Your role in the agency is the Organisation Role in the Agency panel.
Some long-standing staff can release payments without anyone turning it on. Members who were already at the agency when Accounts was introduced were given it automatically, so they kept the access they had. Members added since then start without it. Check the Accounts column and turn it off for anyone who shouldn't release payments.
Can there be no Admin or Director? No. VPA Connect won't remove admin access from the agency's last Admin or Director, or remove the last Director.
