Payment received: what happens now

Updated 3 min read

Once your campaign shows PAID, you've done everything you need to do. Your money is held by Stripe against your campaign, and each supplier is paid from it once they've done the work and your agency has confirmed it.

Your campaign page shows PAID (marker 1) above the items your payment covers (marker 2).

What you see after paying

  • By card: a green banner says Your card payment has been received. Thank you! You can close the window. If the page doesn't show PAID yet, open your link again in a few minutes.
  • By bank transfer: once your transfer arrives, the transfer details page says Payment received: "We've received your bank transfer. Your campaign is on its way."
  • Nothing to transfer: if money left over from an earlier payment already covered what you owed, the page says You're all paid: "A balance left over from an earlier payment already covered this, so there's nothing to transfer."

What happens next

  1. Suppliers do the work in the proposal: photography, signboards and so on. Your agent arranges the timing.
  2. Each supplier is paid once they ask to be paid and your agency confirms the job. You don't need to do anything. See How VPA Connect works.
  3. Your agent may propose a change, such as an extra item. You get an email, and nothing changes unless you approve it. See Approving extra items, supplier swaps and additional funding.
  4. Your agency completes the campaign when the marketing is finished. You get an email summarising where your money went, with a link to your completed campaign, and any unused funds are refunded. Your campaign page then shows CAMPAIGN COMPLETE and your tax invoices (see below).

When your campaign is complete

A completed campaign page. Marker 1 is on the CAMPAIGN COMPLETE bar, and marker 2 on the summary below it: the date it was completed, what you paid, and what was returned to you.

Once your agency completes the campaign, the PAID bar changes to CAMPAIGN COMPLETE (marker 1). Below it (marker 2) the page says when it was completed, that there is nothing more to pay, how much you paid, and any unused funds coming back to you and where they're going, for example "$200.00 to your card". A refund can still be on its way when you read this.

If part of the refund goes to your bank account, Stripe emails you to ask for your bank details first. The refund is sent once you reply.

Further down, Campaign summary shows what you approved and:

  1. Paid by you: what you paid, and how (for example your card, a bank transfer, or Pay Later through Campaign Flow).
  2. Spent with suppliers: each item and the supplier who did it, then the VPA Connect fee.
  3. Unused funds coming back: anything left over, and where it's going.
Your tax invoices on a completed campaign page: one row per supplier and one for the VPA Connect fee, with marker 1 on a View invoice link.

Your tax invoices lists each supplier's invoice and VPA Connect's fee invoice. Select View invoice (marker 1) to open one. The invoices stay on this page, so you can come back for them; save copies for your records. See Receipts, tax invoices and GST.

Common questions

Is it done? Yes. There's nothing else to do unless your agent proposes a change. Once the page says CAMPAIGN COMPLETE, the campaign is finished.

Will I get a receipt? See Receipts, tax invoices and GST.
