Your campaign payment page: agreeing, reviewing and approving the proposal

Updated 3 min read

Your agent sets up the marketing for your property in VPA Connect and emails you a link to it. The email comes from VPA Connect and says Marketing Campaign Proposed by your agency. The link opens your campaign page. You don't need an account or a password.

The link works for 48 hours. If it has stopped working, see Your secure link has expired.

Part 1: Agree to the Payment Terms

The first time you open the link, you're asked to agree to the Payment Terms.

The Welcome to VPA Connect screen with the Payment Terms on the right. Marker 1 is on the box confirming you appointed the agency, marker 2 on the box agreeing to the Payment Terms, and marker 3 on I Agree & Continue.
Open full size: The Welcome to VPA Connect screen with the Payment Terms on the right. Marker 1 is on the box confirming you appointed the agency, marker 2 on the box agreeing to the Payment Terms, and marker 3 on I Agree & Continue. (opens in a new tab)
  1. Read the Payment Terms and scroll to the end of them. Until you do, the page says "Please scroll to the bottom to continue". Select View fullscreen to read them in a larger window.
  2. Tick I have appointed the Real Estate Agency that invited me to use VPA Connect (marker 1).
  3. Tick I agree to the Payment Terms (marker 2).
  4. Select I Agree & Continue (marker 3). A "You have successfully agreed to the Payment Terms" message appears and your proposal opens.

Part 2: Review and approve the proposal

The marketing proposal for 455 George St, Sydney. Marker 1 is on the list of items with each supplier, description and amount, marker 2 on the total of $990.00 including GST, and marker 3 on the Approve button.

  1. Check each item in the list (marker 1): the type of work, the supplier doing it, what's included, and the amount. On a phone, swipe the list sideways to see the amounts.
  2. Check the total (marker 2). It includes GST and the VPA Connect platform fee, which is its own line in the list.
  3. Select Approve (marker 3). Your payment options open. See Choosing how to pay.

If anything looks wrong, don't approve it. Contact your agent, who can change the proposal and send you a revised one (see Reviewing a revised proposal).

On some campaigns the button says Pay instead of Approve, and selecting it opens the payment options straight away. It also says Pay when you come back to a proposal you've already approved.

Common questions

What am I agreeing to? The Payment Terms explain how VPA Connect collects your marketing money, holds it while the work is done, and pays each supplier once your agency confirms the job. See How VPA Connect works.

Why must I confirm I appointed the agency? VPA Connect only collects money for an agency you've engaged to sell your property. If you haven't appointed the agency named in the email, don't go any further, and see Is this payment request genuine?.

What are these items? Each line is one job, such as photography, a signboard or copywriting, and the supplier who will do it. The Platform Fee line is VPA Connect's fee: $45 per campaign, or 0.5% of the campaign on campaigns created before the current fee (see Fees and limits). Advertising on property portals such as realestate.com.au or Domain isn't listed here: your agency arranges and pays for that directly.

Does approving take any money? No. Approving confirms the proposal. You pay in the next step, once you've chosen how.

Someone else owns the property with me. Do we both approve? No. One approval is enough. See Wrong email, co-owners and changing your details.

Who do I ask if I have a question? Your agent first, on a phone number or email address you already have. The round help button in the bottom-right corner of the payment page also lets you search these guides or send the VPA Connect team a question (see The help button).
