"Outstanding balance": paying a shortfall before changes unlock
Updated 1 min read
Part of your campaign hasn't been paid for yet, and that has to be paid before you can approve any other changes. This usually happens with Pay Later, when Campaign Flow funded less than the campaign total: for example, when the campaign grew after your finance was arranged.
Your campaign page shows a banner:
Outstanding balance $X Pay this outstanding balance first — the changes below unlock once it is settled.
If your agent has also proposed changes, the banner adds a line such as "Payable now: $X · Additional funding (locked): $Y". The locked changes are listed but can't be approved yet.
Pay the outstanding balance
- Select Pay at the top of your campaign page. The payment option for an outstanding balance is Pay Now by Card.
- Select Pay Now by Card and pay on Stripe's page. See Pay by card.
- Back on your campaign page, the banner changes to Balance paid — the additional funding below is now ready to review.
- Review the changes that were locked. See Approving extra items, supplier swaps and additional funding.
Common questions
Why can't I approve the changes yet? The campaign has to be fully paid for before anything is added to it. Once the outstanding balance is paid, the changes unlock.
Why do I owe this if I used Pay Later? Campaign Flow funded less than the campaign total. Your agent can explain why the amounts differ.
The balance is more than $5,000, or I can't pay by card. Contact your agent, who can arrange an alternative.
