Receipts, tax invoices and GST
Updated 3 min read
Every amount on your payment page includes GST. When your agency completes the campaign, VPA Connect emails you a summary with your tax invoices: one for each supplier payment, plus VPA Connect's invoice for the platform fee. The same invoices are listed on your completed campaign page, so you can come back for them.
When you pay
- VPA Connect emails you a receipt when your payment is received, with the subject VPA Connect: Payment received and your property address. It shows the amount, what it paid for (your campaign, a balance owing, additional funding or changes you approved), how you paid, the date, and a button back to your campaign page. A card payment's receipt arrives straight away; a bank transfer's arrives once the money reaches us. If you transferred more than you owed, it shows the full amount and says the extra is held as refund credit.
- Card payments: Stripe may also email you its own receipt, and the payment appears on your card statement.
- Bank transfers: the transfer also appears on your bank statement.
The receipt isn't a tax invoice. To keep a fuller record now, use your browser's print or save-as-PDF option on your campaign page. It lists every item, its supplier and the amount.
When the campaign is completed
VPA Connect emails you "Your marketing campaign for … is complete" when your agency completes the campaign. The email has:
- a View your final campaign button that opens your completed campaign page. For your security the link works for 48 hours; after that, open it and select Send me a new link
- a campaign summary: what you approved, what you paid and how, what was spent with each supplier, and the VPA Connect fee
- your tax invoices: one for each supplier payment, with a View invoice link. The supplier issues it, it's addressed to you, and it shows the supplier's name and ABN. VPA Connect's invoice for the platform fee is there too
- unused funds: any money left over and where it's going, or "None" if every dollar was used
On your completed campaign page, the same invoices are listed under Your tax invoices: select View invoice to open one (see Payment received: what happens now). If an invoice won't open, the page says "This invoice is not available. Please contact your agent for a copy."
Common questions
Is GST included? Yes. Amounts on your payment page are shown "inc. GST".
What do I give my conveyancer or accountant? The completion email, or the invoices on your completed campaign page (select View invoice for each). Before the campaign is completed, ask your agent for an itemised statement of the marketing.
I need a receipt before the campaign is completed. Use the Payment received email VPA Connect sent when you paid. If you can't find it, check your junk or spam folder, or ask your agent.
I paid with Pay Later. Where's my receipt? Campaign Flow sends you the paperwork for a Pay Later payment, not VPA Connect.
I didn't get the completion email. Check your junk or spam folder and search for "VPA Connect". Your invoices are also on your campaign page: open it from any earlier VPA Connect email, and if the link has expired, select Send me a new link. If you can't find any email, ask your agent to check your email address. See Emails you'll receive and who sends them.
