Completed jobs, invoices and GST

Updated 2 min read

Completed lists every job that has been fully paid to you (Paid) or finished for less than its budget (Closed).

The three tiles at the top of this page are about the work you haven't been paid for yet, so they show the same figures as your Outstanding page (see The Outstanding page).

Select a job to open it.

  1. Platform fee: shown only if a fee was taken. VPA Connect doesn't take a supplier platform fee at present; the screenshot comes from a test system where one is switched on.
  2. Payout: what was paid to your Stripe account for this job.
  3. Client invoice: your invoice for the work. It opens in Stripe, where you can download it as a PDF.
  4. Platform fee invoice: VPA Connect's invoice to you for the fee. It appears only when a fee was taken.

Don't raise your own invoice in Xero (or your accounting software) for VPA Connect jobs. VPA Connect issues the invoice when your payment is released, and with Xero connected it appears in your Xero automatically, already paid. Raising your own as well records the income twice. See Connect Xero.

Each released payment, partial or final, has its own invoices in the Payment history. They appear once the agency releases the payment, and the release email links to them too. All your invoices are also in your Stripe account.

Who is my invoice addressed to?

The client invoice is addressed to the seller, at the property address, not to the agency. The seller is the one paying for the marketing; the agency only manages the campaign. The invoice is issued in your business's name, from your Stripe account, and shows:

  • your registered business name, labelled Supplier, and your Supplier ABN;
  • your trading name and business address;
  • under Bill to: the seller's name and the property address;
  • the job, the amount and your note.

The invoice is already paid from the money the seller paid into the campaign. Nobody needs to pay it again, even where the PDF shows an amount due.

Is the GST right?

All job amounts in VPA Connect include GST.

  • Registered for GST when you registered: your invoice shows the GST included in the amount.
  • Not registered for GST: your invoice shows no GST.

The platform fee invoice, when there is one, always includes GST, because VPA Connect is registered for GST.

If your GST registration has changed since you registered, select Help at the bottom of the sidebar and send the help form (see Getting help).
