Register as a supplier
Updated 4 min read
Registering takes about 5 minutes and you do it once. It ends with setting up a Stripe account, which is how VPA Connect pays you.
Have these ready:
- Your business's ABN (or ACN).
- The business's bank account: account name, BSB and account number.
- Your ID, in case Stripe asks to check it.
- Your email inbox, for a 6-digit sign-in code.
An agency may have emailed you an invitation to join VPA Connect. You don't need it to register: anyone can start from the login page.
Is your business already on VPA Connect? Then don't register it again. Ask one of its Admins to invite you to the team (see Accept an invitation to a supplier team). If you register with an ABN that's already on VPA Connect, you get a request to join instead of a new business, and an Admin of that business must approve it (see Join a business that's already on VPA Connect).
Part 1: Choose Supplier

- On the login page, choose to register, then select Supplier.
- Select Next. The supplier terms open.
Part 2: Accept the terms

- Read the terms and scroll to the end of the document. The message "Please scroll to the bottom to continue" disappears.
- Select Next. Your details opens.
Part 3: Your details

- Type your First Name.
- Type your Last Name.
- Type your Work Email. This is the address you'll sign in with.
- Select Next. Check your inbox opens, and VPA Connect emails you a 6-digit code.
Type the code into the six boxes. It's checked as soon as you type the last digit: a "Your account has been created" message appears and Business details opens. If the code hasn't arrived, check your spam folder, then select Resend code (you can resend every 30 seconds).
If you already use VPA Connect with this email (for example, at an agency), you're signed in to that account and see "Your supplier account has been added" instead.
Part 4: Business details

- Type your Trading Name: the name your clients know you by.
- Type your ABN/ACN, then click outside the field.
- Check the Registered name. VPA Connect fills it in from the ABN register, and you can't type in it. It appears on your invoices.
- Start typing your business Address and choose it from the list.
- Select Next. Bank account details opens.
If you typed an ACN, VPA Connect uses the company's ABN instead.
Part 5: Bank details and services

- Type the bank Account Name of the account your payments go to.
- Type the BSB Number (6 digits).
- Type the Account Number (6 to 10 digits).
- Under Business Service Types, tick every service you provide.
- Select Next. Review application opens.
Business website (optional) can be left empty.
Part 6: Review

- Check every detail, especially the BSB and Bank Account.
- Select Next. A "Supplier business created successfully" message appears and the Stripe step opens. If the ABN belongs to a business that's already on VPA Connect, Request sent appears instead (see Join a business that's already on VPA Connect).
Check the bank details before you select Next. After this step they can only be changed in your Stripe account (see Change your bank details, ABN or business name).
Part 7: Register with Stripe
VPA Connect pays suppliers through Stripe, so your business needs a Stripe account. Stripe asks for the details it needs to verify a business and pay it.
- On Complete business registration via Stripe, select Register via Stripe. Stripe opens. The same link is emailed to you, so you can finish later.
- Follow Stripe's steps until Stripe says you're done.
- Stripe sends you back to VPA Connect, which shows Finalising your account for a moment. Your Outstanding Services page then opens: you're registered.
If you see Your Stripe registration isn't finished yet, Stripe still needs something from you: select Resume Stripe registration. For other messages, see Registration stuck.
What happens next
Jobs appear on your Outstanding page once an agency adds you to a campaign and the seller has paid for it. See Getting paid.
