Export your jobs for your accountant
Updated 2 min read
The export downloads a ZIP file with your VPA Connect income, fees, payouts and invoice PDFs, ready to import into Xero, MYOB AccountRight or QuickBooks. It includes every payment released to you in the dates you choose, partial payments too.

- On your Completed page, select Export, then choose the first day in Completed date — from.
- Choose the last day in Completed date — to. The range can be up to 90 days; for a quarterly BAS, export one quarter at a time.
- Choose your Accounting format: Xero, MYOB AccountRight or QuickBooks.
- Type the account codes from your own accounts (for Xero, the Income account code and Platform-fee expense account code). Ask your accountant which to use, or leave them blank and fill them in after importing.
- Select Download. A ZIP file named like
vpa-export-xero-2026-10-01-to-2026-10-19.zipdownloads.
VPA Connect remembers the format and codes you used on this computer.
What's in the ZIP
| File | What it is |
|---|---|
README.txt | Read first: the file list and two warnings (below) |
…-import-guide.txt | Step-by-step import and reconciliation for your package |
…-invoices.csv | Your income, as sales invoices, one per released payment |
…-bills.csv | Platform fees, as bills. Only when fees were taken |
payout-summary.csv | Each Stripe deposit and the invoices it paid |
payout-data-raw.csv | Each invoice with its property, fee and net payout. It has no deposit date or ID: use payout-summary.csv to see which deposit paid it |
invoices/ | The invoice PDFs from Stripe |
QuickBooks exports also include a bank upload file. If some invoice PDFs
couldn't be fetched, missing-invoices.csv lists them.
Two warnings for your accountant
- Don't count income twice. Record income either by importing the invoices and matching your bank deposits to them, or by coding the bank deposits straight to income. Never both.
- Amounts include GST. Check your package's "amounts are tax inclusive" setting before importing, so GST isn't added twice. Try a small import first.
A payment released near the end of one export is often deposited during the
next, so payout-summary.csv marks it "NOT YET PAID OUT". Export
consecutive date ranges and it will match up.
