Your team: roles, removing and reactivating, and logging in to Stripe

Updated 4 min read

Everyone who works for your business on VPA Connect has their own login and belongs to your business's team. Each person is an Admin or a Member. You see the team at the bottom of your Account page: select your name at the top of the sidebar.

The Team section

The list shows each active person's name, email and role. Admins also see:

  1. Invite to team: invite someone by email (see Invite someone to your team).
  2. The Admin switch beside each person: on for an Admin, off for a Member.
  3. Remove: take someone off the team.
  4. Removed: people who were removed, each with Reactivate.

Admins also see Requests to join (people who registered with your ABN, see Join a business that's already on VPA Connect) and Invitations that haven't been accepted yet.

Members see the active team and each person's role, and nothing else.

A Member's Account page has no Edit or Open Stripe Dashboard button (marker 1), shows roles as words instead of switches (marker 2), and the sidebar has no Integrations link (marker 3).

The person who first registered the business is its owner. The owner is always an Admin: nobody can remove them or switch off their Admin role. To hand the business over to someone else, select Help at the bottom of the sidebar and send the help form (see Getting help).

Emails about jobs and payments (a job is ready, a payment was released) go to the business's contact email, or to the owner if there isn't one. Other team members don't get them, so check the Outstanding and Completed pages yourself.

Make someone an Admin or a Member

On your Account page, turn the Admin switch beside the person on or off. A "Role changed to Admin" or "Role changed to Member" message appears, and VPA Connect emails them to say what changed.

You can't change your own role, and a business always keeps at least one Admin: if you're the only one, make someone else an Admin first.

Remove someone

The Remove Isaac Lowe from Tessaly Styling? confirmation: marker 1 on the explanation and marker 2 on Remove.
Open full size: The Remove Isaac Lowe from Tessaly Styling? confirmation: marker 1 on the explanation and marker 2 on Remove. (opens in a new tab)

On your Account page, select Remove beside the person. A confirmation opens.

  1. Read what happens: they lose access straight away, and you can reactivate them later.
  2. Select Remove. A "Member removed from the business" message appears, and they move to the Removed list.

They lose access to your business straight away, and VPA Connect emails them. The jobs and payment requests they worked on stay with your business. Their login and any other business they belong to aren't affected. If your business was their only one, they see No active accounts the next time they sign in.

You can't remove yourself or the owner, or the last Admin.

Reactivate someone

Under Removed, select Reactivate beside the person, then Reactivate in the confirmation. A "Member reactivated" message appears. They're back on the team in the role they had before, and VPA Connect emails them.

I can't log in to VPA Connect

VPA Connect has no passwords. On the login page, type your email and you're emailed a 6-digit code. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder and make sure you're using the email you were invited or registered with.

If you see No active accounts, you're no longer on any team: ask an Admin of your business to reactivate you or invite you again.

How do I log in to Stripe?

Stripe is for Admins. Open your Account page and select Open Stripe Dashboard. Stripe asks you to sign in with the phone number or email it has for your business.

Stripe's sign-in uses the contact details of whoever set up the business's Stripe account, so another Admin may need that person's code to get in.

I've lost the phone Stripe sends codes to

Stripe handles this, not VPA Connect. Follow Stripe's help for Express accounts: Stripe Express support.
