Change your bank details, ABN or business name
Updated 2 min read
Your business details live in two places. Your bank account is held by Stripe, so you change it in Stripe. Your trading name you change in VPA Connect. Your ABN and registered name can't be changed by you.

Select your name at the top of the sidebar to open your Account page.
| Marker | Detail | How to change it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Registered name | Your legal name, from the ABN register | It can't be changed here (see below) |
| 2 Trading name | The name clients see | Select Edit (see below) |
| 3 ABN | Your business's ABN | It can't be changed here (see below) |
| 4 Open Stripe Dashboard | Your bank account, and the details Stripe holds | Change them in Stripe |
Change your bank account
- On your Account page, select Open Stripe Dashboard and sign in to Stripe.
- Follow Stripe's steps to update your payout bank account: Stripe: update your bank account.
Payouts already on their way go to the old account. Later payouts go to the new one.
Change your trading name

Select Edit beside Trading name.
- Type the new name.
- Select Save. A "Trading name updated" message appears.
Only your business's Admins can change the trading name, the logo (Image) and the bank account. Members see no Edit or Open Stripe Dashboard button; ask an Admin (see Your team).
Change your ABN or registered name
These come from your registration and can't be changed in VPA Connect. If your ABN or legal name has changed (for example, you've moved from a sole trader to a company), select Help at the bottom of the sidebar and send the help form (see Getting help). Don't register again with the same email.
If you try to re-enter your business details, you'll see "This business has already completed onboarding. Please contact support if its details need to change." Send the help form as above.
